Natural C-Section
When involved in the birthing process, it's very important to me that new parents enjoy the best possible experience, regardless of the birth method.
With most uncomplicated, vaginal births, babies are brought straight to their mother's chest, for immediate skin-to-skin contact, parent-baby bonding and the initiation of breastfeeding.
With caesarean section (C-section) deliveries, babies are often taken away from the parents, examined, wrapped and returned. A 'natural (or gentle) C-section' is where the C-section is performed to closely align with a vaginal birth, allowing a mother to be more involved in her child's birth, and enjoy immediate skin-to-skin contact in the operating theatre.
I make every effort to ensure this happens, unless the baby requires immediate support following birth.
